I am an Industrial Designer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. (Bogotá – Colombia). There, I made a short postgraduate course in Consumer Psychology; I also hold a Master degree in Cognitive Systems and Interactive media from the University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona-Spain).

I also studied confectionery and bakery pastry because I wanted to explore the possibilities to understand food as an element of design.

My approach involves transforming communicational objectives into design strategies using the result of research studies to guide design processes:

Some multimedia I have created , support many types of learning styles to enhance memory processes using text, audio, video, narratives and activities to make learners experience what they were learning about.Take a look
In my master thesis,
we studied if the
presence of a talking head
(instructor appearence), used in academic videos has
any influence in learning. For the study it was used
electroencephalography.
We found that when the difficulty of the content is
expected to be high, removing this resource and
using its audio increases the cognitive load.
It is the total mental effort needed
to perform a task.
Did you know that although there is a widespread belief that collectives are more inventive than isolated individuals, social psychologists have proved that a group can rarely have a better performance than its best member? I am doing research about how to improve group work methodologies through the use cognitive profiles.
